Advisory Board [Secretary] – Sylvia Johnson

Commissioner Sylvia L. Johnson is a native Washingtonian but has resided in Prince George’s County for more than 25 years. She is the Founder & CEO of JI-Solutions LLC a Woman-Owned Health IT and Biomedical Consulting Company and she’s the President of DC Technology Systems an IT Cybersecurity company.

Ms. Johnson started her 18-year career in public service with the US Federal government with the NIH/NCI and the US-FDA as a research scientist, compliance officer, lead FDA Inspector, and Specialist for the FDA Commissioner working on International Affairs. After leaving an illustrious career with the federal government Ms. Johnson held executive positions with several Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies. She’s a Subject Matter Expert/Expert Witness in her field.

Ms. Johnson holds a BS Degree in Biology and an MS Degree in Technology Management (Biotechnology Specialty) along with several professional certifications.

She currently divides her time between community engagement and business development and is a Board Member for the Doctors Community Hospital Foundation and the Bi-County Business Roundtable. 

Ms. Johnson is also a mentor and volunteers her time and resources to uplift her community.

She is the Mother of one Son and is a dedicated resident of Prince George’s County.
